Performance Group Information

This group is designed to develop skills and talent. We’re looking at 10 practice sessions, every other weekend, for 2 hours per session. The routine is choreographed and the moves are socially lead able. The repetition of the routine is meant to create muscle memory and confidence; which is then meant to make musicality easier and fun. Who can be involved:

1) Any level is welcome to join, though knowing the basic Lindy Hop Swingout will be helpful in keeping up with the group.

2) No partner required.

What to expect when you’re involved:

1) To have great time, there are usually lots of laughs, and build connection with each other and the dance scene overall.

2) To work hard, we give our all in these practices. To grow and level up takes effort, and you’re worth it.

3) To have a much better understanding of connection, body lines, and the mechanics of LindyHop.

4) To increase your moves vocabulary. I break down each move to its core, then build up to how we’re executing it in our routine.

5) To become a better dancer overall. You’ll have the information, real-time feedback, and the time to explore and practice the many facets of what makes Lindy Hop so wonderful.

Location: Barbara Ann's School of Dance

              898 E High St, Lexington, KY 40502

 

Admission: $10 per person at the door

Cash, card, or Venmo (cashless payments will have a service charge added). Children under the age of 12 are free when accompanied by a paying adult. 

​

Parking: There is a lot immediately behind Barbara's Ann's School of Dance and adjacent street parking. This is limited, so we recommend that you carpool when possible.
The studio location is in a city block with a lot of businesses so please pay attention to parking signs!

​

Policy: We ask that you please stay home if you are feeling symptomatic, and continue to practice good hand hygiene at our events. We continue to support those who choose to wear a mask while dancing, but it is not required to attend. 

​
